Methodology
How We Source and Display Gold Rates
Goldkosh is committed to showing accurate, verifiable gold rates. Here's exactly where our data comes from.
Primary Data Source: IBJA
All gold rates on Goldkosh are sourced from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) — the industry benchmark authority for gold pricing in India. IBJA publishes rates twice daily: at 11:30 AM IST (AM rate) and 5:00 PM IST (PM rate).
IBJA rates are used by all major banks, NBFCs, and jewellers in India. These are the same rates used for gold loans, sovereign gold bonds, and jewellery pricing across the country.
City-Level Adjustments
Local gold rates vary slightly from the IBJA national base rate due to local bullion association charges, transportation, and regional demand. Goldkosh applies city-specific adjustment factors based on average historical premiums reported by local bullion associations.
These adjustments are indicative. Actual local jeweller rates may vary.
Update Frequency
- Rates are entered twice daily — at 11:30 AM and 5:00 PM IST on working days
- Pages display the latest rate within 5 minutes of entry via ISR caching
- Historical data is preserved from each rate entry
